Previously noted is that Taladas is a million square miles, putting it in that sweet spot between "large island" and "island continent". Also noted is that I prefer continents to be continents. So let's make Taladas into a continent.
That Taladas has always been a sideshow imposes some constraints upon worldbuilders efforts. We can't allow its cultures to overshadow Ansalon. On the other hand: we're not running against too many other fans' efforts.
Our first rule is that we don't expand the radius of Hiteh's Hole in the middle. This massive lavapit is as large as the planet, I think, can handle. Our second rule is that we don't expand Old Aurim to its east. Aurim should remain The Overrated Civilisation on this world: still the best show on old Taladas, but not on par with Istar down under.
Third rule - corollary of the second: this modern Fourth Age's civilised realms stay the same size. If Aurim wasn't all that big then, neither are its successor-states now. That holds the line for most of the Southern Hosk, and Baltch.
That said, I believe Neron, the Fisheries, and the Rainwards are mostly wilderness and may be expanded. Also we can stretch out the ring mountains around the big red sea. Okami in the Minotaur League might be extended west-east as well - keeping in mind that Faroen (and Brilmantar) remain "outpost towns" (Guide Book, 45). This has the advantage of extending hulder space (pp. 47, 77), the length of the Styrllian treks, and available space for the Steamwall savages.
As for the whole northern plains and tundra: just go to town.
The discrepancy between map-Taladas and actual-Taladas can be explained in-game that the Steamwall and the Tamire simply haven't been explored much, and the same goes for the seas on the Hitehkel's wrong side.
